Job Designation

The Product Repair Technician (Avionics area) performs inspections, tests, troubleshoot, and repairs on customer returned equipment, in accordance with rules and regulations. Provides an efficient and effective repair service that meets company and departmental obligations and objectives.      

Job Core Responsibilities


  • Performs teardowns, overhauls, and functional testing of various repair station products and items
  • Troubleshoot complex pneumatic systems and test, diagnose, and repair electro-mechanical systems, including electric motors and servos.
  • Effectively communicates details of repair work to customers as needed
  • Informs the Technical Support group of recurring failure modes, errors, software problems, and all other occurrences affecting the operation of the repair station
  • Ensures that all repair work is performed according to procedures and per correct document revision
  • Develops and implements product improvement initiatives and ensures that the appropriate training is obtained to maintain the correct knowledge in all regulations, procedures, and processes required to carry out the job function effectively
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and additional hours as necessary

Job Specifications


Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience will allow successful performance of job expectations.


Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships, or the equivalent experience in a related field 


Years’ Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience



  • Minimum 3 years working as an Avionics Bench Technician on Class 3 electronics accessories
  • Familiar with 14 CFR Part 145 regulations
  • Able to read, write, and understand the English language as required under CFR Part 65
  • Must be able to perform repairs and overhauls using approved technical data such as CMMs or engineering schematics/drawings
  • Must know how to solder through-hole and surface-mounted components
  • Candidate must know how to use standard equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Frequency Generators, DMMs, ARINC 429 equipment, Signal Analyzers, Phase Angle Analyzers, Ratio Transformers, Decade Boxes, etc.
  • Must be familiar with working in a control ESD environment.
  • Able to adapt and perform well under a fast-paced MRO environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred Associate Degree in Electronics Technology from a College/University, or have graduated from a Vocational School offering an Avionics Technology Program.
  • FCC and or A&P licensed is considered a plus for this position
  •  Familiar with using Quantum and or SAP ERP systems also a plus
  • Knowledgeable of analog circuits and digital circuit theories to perform troubleshooting at the component level.
