Job Designation

Meggitt’s Inventory Planning and Analysis Manager is responsible for providing timely and accurate inventory forecasts; develops workshop inventory plans, bills of materials, and stocking strategies; participates in monthly regional SIOP process for their respective customers and products; uses multiple sources to develop the demand plan including a statistical forecast, sales plans, new product introductions/phase-outs, and market intelligence.

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Own global inventory forecasts and speak to variances at the product family level
•    Support the generation of Bills of Materials for the MRO operations and develop processes for the ongoing maintenance of MRO part requirements
•    Develop and report on Key Performance Indicators related to inventory holdings, including: 
o    Fill rate
o    Service level targets
o    On-time delivery
o    Overstocked / Understocked quantities
•    Work with demand/inventory analyst forecasts, new product development plans, and local sales plans to develop a SKU-level demand plan (consensus demand plan)
•    Ad hoc reporting of inventory analysis, suggest action items driving improvement
•    Help ensure alignment for inventory strategies supporting our customers
•    Evaluate forecast accuracy and determine action plans to improve accuracy
•    Use and maintain the demand planning software as the primary demand planning tool
•    Prepare reports and recommend adjustments to sales or supply plans
•    Provide input to the Materials Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs
•    Closely coordinate and communicate customer action, promotional, and new product introduction plans with supply planning and the regional sales team
•    Manage regional customer consignment inventory, as required
•    Understand problems with data and develop data quality improvements

Job Specifications

Education: Post-Secondary Degree in related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectation

Certification: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field

Skills: 

  • Strong understanding of aviation, aerospace and defense, or manufacturing
  • Experience in Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations
  • Strong analytical talent and high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Bachelor’s degree and previous experience in a demand planning function
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting, and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts
  • Willing and able to travel 5% to 10%, as needed
  • Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Success in this role requires professional facilitation and presentation skills, strong analytical skills, and an ability to present complex data in a concise manner.
