MRO Technology Transfer Project Manager

Job Designation

The Technology Transfer Project Manager will lead a subset of the overall work transfer program from OEM sites to consolidated MRO centers. The position will be based in Miami, FL.

Job Core Responsibilities
  • Manage the transition of technology to consolidated  MRO facilities.
  • Plan, coordinate and implement project tasks according to project timeline and specifications.
  • Track and report on project milestones and provide regular status reports to relevant departments/teams.
  • Develop Work Transfer standards.
  • Develop manufacturing infrastructure to integrate or deploy new manufacturing processes.
  • Evaluate manufacturing equipment, materials, or components for re-use of existing equipment; alignment with emerging equipment standards; options to localize materials
  • Develop routing process steps to establish or improve the optimum sequence of manufacturing operations to improve costs or reduce production time.
  • Oversee the writing of Detailed Manufacturing Instructions (DMIs) and ensure they are in place prior to a technology or product transfer.
  • Assist in writing capital expenditure requests (CERs). 
  • Work closely with engineers to ensure that bill of materials (BOMs) are created and in place prior to initiating a technology transfer.
  • Ensure labor and material standards are in place and adhered to.
  • Manage process validation, material specifications and standards.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes to identify ways to reduce losses, improve efficiency and/or improve quality 
  • Manage the technology intellectual property (IP management, Licensing opportunities, etc.).
  • Ensure adherence to safety rules and practices.
Job Specifications

Education : Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Certifications : Lean certification would be most helpful Travel: Upto 25%
Years Experience : At least 2 years of relevant experience
Skills :

  • Excellent ability to apply a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) 
  • Experienced in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement
  • Ability to work independently and interface with cross-functional disciplines; using effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
