Job Designation

The Senior Manager of Production is responsible for Operational delivery and strategy for a Miami MRO which includes 3 Value Streams (Mechanical, Products, Safety Systems and Avionics). Management of the operations function within Value Stream, ensuring that operations best practices (rules, tools, talent and training) are correctly implemented. 

 

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Operational leadership and personnel to develop and execute the operations strategy for the Value Streams to produce products and direct activities so that approved products are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives, covering manufacturing, continuous improvement, scheduling and overall Value Stream performance with respect to on-time delivery, first pass yield, productivity and utilization.
•    Ensure deployment of functional processes within the Value Streams and drive Continuous Improvement, maintaining high standards of Lean manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company standards.
•    Establish Lean production and Lean Management plans to ensure delivery of operational results in terms of delivery, quality, cost and inventory within the Value Stream.
•    Oversee professional development of manufacturing personnel within the Value Stream. All leadership in the value stream should be LGB lean greenbelt trained – certified.
•    Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with relevant legislation and Company requirements within the Value Stream.
•    Ensure provision of necessary facilities and equipment to support the Value Stream operations. 

Job Specifications

Required Education Level: High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience
Preferred Education Level: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience: 10+ Years of experience in a Production and/or Manufacturing role

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • A solid understanding of capacity planning and management, including Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), work scheduling techniques and inventory management
  • A solid understanding of LEAN production and LEAN management.
  • A qualified “Green Belt” with demonstrable experience of leading Kaizen events
  • Advanced people management and team leadership skills including delegation, training, maintaining a coaching mindset and evaluating performance
  • A solid understanding of HSE principles 
  • A solid understanding of Zero Defects methodology and Quality Management techniques, such as 8 Disciplines of Problem Solving (8D) and Statistical Process Control
  • A basic understanding of procurement
  • A basic understanding of finance principles and their application
  • A basic understanding of strategic manufacturing issues, such as impact of volume, variety and lead time and process layout options
