Job Designation

The Engineering Manager is responsible for the full product development life cycle of one or more product lines. Manages engineering activity and participates in decision making that will have a significant impact on products.    

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Executes strategy consistent with company goals while identifying and selecting existing and emerging technology applicable to the business
  • Collaborates with other groups to optimize profits, handles schedules and budgets
  • Ensures profitability and manufacturability of new designs while managing technical risks
  • Maintains staffing levels to ensure sufficient capacity to rapidly changing demand
  • Provides managerial and technical solutions to a variety of issues
  • Develops and controls intellectual property
  • Leads and directs work for team of employees as defined by business needs
  • Manages staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Job Specifications

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or the equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations

Years Experience: 15 years or more of relevant experience


  • Strong ability to lead, plan and direct engineering activities
  • Demonstrated engineering expertise and ability to apply diversified knowledge of principles and practices over a broad area of assignments in a specific discipline
  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes, tools and standard operating procedures
  • Demonstrated use of the latest technology to enhance the growth of an organization
  • Solid analytical skills and judgment to proactively identify and solve increasingly complex problems
  • Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize with changing situations
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
