Job Designation

The Strategic Account Manager (SAM), individually or as part of a team, will identify, pursue and close sales opportunities for products fitted to aircraft in accordance with the agreed business strategy for allocated regions or specific enquiries. The role requires a proven track record of creating success through a combination fo strategic busines development, market intelligence and enthusiasm. Job Core Responsibilities
  • To maintain and expand relationships on strategic Customer accounts and with external agencies in order to develop/identify opportunities to help the Company achieve its strategic vision
  • For allocated opportunities to:
    • Create a compelling business case to secure internal engineering resource and generate profit
    • Co-ordinate and lead the timely submission of information, quotations and proposals to Customers
    • Follow up such quotes/proposals in order to secure the contract
  • From time to time to represent and promote Meggitt Avionics at trade shows
  • To maintain adequate records of all customer contacts, communications and reports
  • To provide accurate sales and bookings forecast on a weekly basis
  • To support the Sales & Marketing Director in preparing budget sales forecasts
  • To contribute to any changes as may be required to the formulation of revised business plans and strategies
  • To undertake such travel as may be required in order to execute the above duties
  • To provide comprehensive trip reports for all customer visits, trade show attendance and industry seminars
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
Job Specifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in related field that will allow successful performance of job expectations

Years Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience

• Proven sales account management experience
• Proven track record in increasing revenue through generation of leads
• Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivation and ability to thrive in a small office environment
• Excellent time management and ability to prioritise own workload and meet deadlines
• Keen attention to detail
• Ability to work on own initiative with a tenacious and self-motivated attitude
