Job Designation

The Senior Project Manager leads the Project Management team while driving the successful execution and implementation of projects, within a business unit.  Plans, organizes, and manages all activities necessary to ensure the successful completion of assigned project within established objectives. Oversees project life cycle and ensures results meet requirements regarding quality, reliability, scheduling and cost.

Job Core Responsibilities
  •  Leads the Project Management team while driving the successful execution and implementation of projects, within a business unit
  •  Facilitates timely decisions to maintain project schedule and budget, while providing metric updates to management 
  •  Monitors project budgets; reviewing reports and project expenses to determine if allocated funds have been spent as specified
  •  Follows established guidelines to manage completion of project milestones from beginning to end of lifecyle
  •  Identifies project risks and provides solutions to minimize/eliminate risks; monitoring key project processes for compliance with objectives
  •  Responsible for internal distribution of all project related documentation for review and revisions as required 
  •  Builds strong relationships with customers and develops a deep understanding of their objectives 
  •  Leads and directs work for team of employees as defined by business needs
  •  Manages staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations
  •  Other responsibilities as assigned
  •  Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  •  Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Job Specifications

Education:  Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations

Years Experience: 7-10 years of relevant experience
