Job Designation

The core responsibility of the Planning Manager is to ensure material availability to the factory in support of customer schedules. The Planning manager will direct MPS supervisors and production controllers and work with Sourcing & Purchasing managers to support three pillars of supply chain team – inventory optimization, material cost reduction and supplier performance improvement.

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Direct production controllers to properly schedule production factories supporting customer schedules.
•    Plan for Every Part (PFEP) process
•    Support planning Portion of SIOP
•    Establish planning strategies for each product line
•    Responsible for overall supply management techniques and validation process including safety stocks, etc
•    Identify and support cost down initiatives including buy-complete, LCE opportunities, VMI, consignment and other inventory pull systems
•    Support supply chain optimization strategies & activities
•    Develop and manage team metrics (leading indicators) to drive performance improvement
•    Manage Planning DLA board, support Supply Chain DLA boards along with Purchasing, Sourcing, SIOP, NPI, and Logistics

Job Specifications

Education : Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Certifications :

Years Experience : 5+ years of experience in procurement / supply chain experience in a defense or aerospace environment.  

•    Experienced with procurement & supply chain management 
•    Experience with machining, secondary processes and castings
•    Knowledge of FAR/DFAR
•    Knowledge of Military & Commercial standards
•    APICS certification ideal 
•    Knowledge of SAP ERP system 
•    Strong analytical skills
•    Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
•    Requires strong interpersonal communications (written and verbal) with a positive attitude and ability to motivate others.
•    Have the ability to prioritize workload and complete tasks on a timely basis.
•    Have the ability to maintain flexibility and be adaptable to the ever-changing needs of the company.
