Job Summary

Perform duties associated with the setting of an achievable Master Production Schedule supported by materials and constrained by declared Capacity.


Create and maintain a firm horizon Capacity Planning and a long term Capacity Plan covering the current year +1 year planning horizon.

Core Responsibilities

  • Maintain a close working relationship with the demand management functional area to develop production schedules that provide for maximum customer service, optimised inventory and efficient utilization of manufacturing resources
  • Produce the supporting data for the SIOP capacity reviews and record and maintain resulting actions, attending Supply, Demand and Reconciliation SIOP reviews as requested
  • Assist and advise on the achievability of new schedule requests including making allocation recommendations where items are in short supply.
  • Co-ordinate with Purchasing for material availability to support the master production schedule
  • Provide assistance to other planners in the creation of their schedules and serve as a source of information and professional support
  • Monitor engineering change activity to minimize the impact to production schedule requirements Interface and communicate with demand management on any issues impacting product availability
  • Support new program introduction reviews to plan new program and development work into the production schedule, providing feedback to program teams on expected completion dates
  • Support continuous improvement activities associated with planning and scheduling

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Experience of maintaining and executing a robust production planning process
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP productions planning
  • Knowledge of software applications such as Excel and BI tools
  • Experience in execution of the SIOP process specifically capacity and scenario planning
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Driven and tenacious with strong communication skills
