Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to support Meggitt’s world class delivery initiative through manufacturing technical leadership, improving on time delivery, reducing inventory and arrears. This position focuses on design for manufacturing and test of Electronic assemblies. This person will also evaluate, analyze and make recommendations on products, designs and cost improvements. Strong desire and willingness to document and improve internal processes is required. The position will also involve leading/participating in root cause analysis of failed assemblies or components. Additional responsibilities will include: maintenance of configuration control, engineering change management to ensure engineering requirements are fully communicated and understood, leading/participating in development through commissioning of test equipment as well as maintenance and repair of existing test equipment, develop processes and product standards.

Core Responsibilities

  • Complete understanding and wide application of manufacture technical principles, theories and concepts in the field of Electrical Engineering, more specifically Circuit Card Assemblies and Automated Test Equipment to support production manufacturing and test
  • Support new production and Maintenance Repair and Overhaul with respect to Electronic assemblies and Electronic Test equipment
  • Manage manufacturing new product introductions through the design, build and sustaining phases
  • Technical support for external partners (Procurement, MRO & suppliers of test equipment)
  • Equipment obsolescence management
  • Active contributor in Work Transfers
  • Manage engineering change activity and act as Production Change Board Chairman
  • Support cost requests and Capital Equipment Request(Automated Test Equipment for Brake Control Units) from manufacturing point of view
  • Support APQP process from a policy and procedure aspect as it relates to manufacturing (PFMEA, PFD) and participate in Design Engineering DFMEAs
  • Liaise with Engineering to support the receiving of MRB (material review board) authority to disposition electronic and electrical assemblies for manufacturing related non-conformances (FRACAs, concessions, permits)

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in design or manufacturing engineering or electronics and electrical assemblies. Minimum of 1 year experience in Electronics Manufacturing and Test.
  • Proven process development and improvement skills
  • Familiarity with circuit board schematics, circuit card design, manufacturing, and test processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills with an emphasis in working on cross functional teams including suppliers, design engineering, quality and procurement.
  • Proficient with MS Office tools
  • Experience with Labview and other National Instruments data acquisition equipment and motion controls
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control and six sigma is desirable
