Meggitt polymers & Composites have an opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Aerospace Team in the Stevenage R&D site. The ideal candidate will have a degree within an engineering or scientific discipline. The role is to manage multi-internal stakeholders (including Engineering, Procurement, Production functions) to develop and produce specialist composite equipment for aerospace applications.

The primary role of this position is to ensure that the customer requirements flown down via a work order or contract are delivered On Quality, On Time and On Cost. To be the primary interface to the customer ensuring that deliverables are produced in-line with the project schedule and relevant gate/quality reviews and customer reviews.





  • Plans, coordinates, implements and finalizes projects according to specifications and deadlines, while keeping the project within budget
  • Defines the project’s objectives, creates schedules and oversees quality control throughout the entire project
  • Works with other participants to complete project scope, goals and deliverables, while adhering to the budget and timing constraints
  • Creates schedules and reviews timeline objectives with team in order to estimate efforts required to reach objectives
  • Identifies, assess and minimizes risks throughout the project lifecycle, seeking to prevent losses
  • Monitors project budgets; reviewing expense reports to determine if allocated funds are managed properly
  • Tracks and reports milestones and provides status reports to requesting department/team
  • Develops improvements and innovations to enhance performance of the Project Management Team
  • Other responsibilities as assigned



Key skills and competencies required


  • HND/Degree in Engineering, Scientific or other relevant aerospace subjects.
  • APM, Prince2 or similar qualification would be beneficial
  • Should have good knowledge of managing projects and people both locally and remotely.
  • Proven track record of delivering development projects under challenging timescales with cross-functional teams;
  • 'Lead by example'
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills in communication, delegation and motivation.
  • To have good analytical skills to be able to challenge the core team constantly, achieving best value for the customer.
  • Good communication skills to enable discussion and presentation of complex issues and solutions
