We are actively seeking a CNC Milling Controller, who will be principally responsible for CNC milling on multi-axis machining centres. The success candidate will also be responsible for programming, setting and operating of the machining centres, with experience in CNC turning and CNC Sliding Head machines, with a good base knowledge of manual machining.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Programming/Setting and Operating of CNC multi-axis machining Centre’s
  • Other machining such as manual turning, milling and grinding
  • Second operation activities such as deburring
  • General housekeeping activities, Lean 6S and planned maintenance  activities

Job Specifications

  • Apprentice trained in machining.
  • ONC or equivalent in a mechanical engineering discipline
  • Skilled CNC machinist capable of programming, setting and operating of multi-axis CNC machining Centre’s
  • Good written communication and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong prioritization skills
  • Good team player
  • Ability to complete work accurately and thoroughly, meeting required timescales
  • Ability to operate manual machine tools, in particular surface and cylindrical grinding.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Decision making skills
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
  • Ability to ensure a high level of service and quality is maintained
  • Understanding of lean principles, in particular 5S/6S activities
  • Safety orientated with a good awareness of Health and Safety in a machine shop and treatments environment
  • Ability to learn and take on new skills
