Job Designation

The Business Development Manager provides significant business development expertise in sourcing, targeting and winning new business by identifying and building solid, high-level relationships with existing and potential new customers. Manages the entire sales cycle, to ensure revenue is in line with organization and individual targets. 

Job Core Responsibilities
  • Promotes and sells the company’s portfolio of products, while defining strategies and managing the sales cycle
  • Builds, manages and maintains pipeline of potential sales and business cases for the targeted elements of the pipeline 
  • Utilizes advanced product/service knowledge and understanding of the customer's business to develop customized proposals 
  • Maintains effective customer relationships with key senior-level decision makers 
  • Leads and coordinates negotiations with customers and sales team
  • Creates, prepares and delivers responses to requests for proposals, presentations, contracts and other documentation
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Job Specifications

Education: Post-Secondary Degree in Business Development or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectation  
Certifications  

Skills 
Thorough understanding and expertise in  business development
Proven consultative selling skills to develop attractive value propositions       
Strong leadership and effective interpersonal  skills 
Ability to solve complex problems, taking a new perspective on existing solutions and exercising judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and database management tools
