Summary

You will be responsible for leading the MRO operations at Meggitt Airframe Systems Loughborough and ensuring their performance objectives are met. These include, but are not limited to, Safety (employee & airworthiness) – Customer Performance (delivery / TAT) – Quality - Continuous Improvement (people & process). An integral core responsibility is ensuring and facilitating business growth and expansion within the Composite MRO and Aftermarket aerospace sector.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor and coach Site Team Leaders to include management, resource and capacity planning. Developing a team structure and culture to drive performance with clear communication and a supportive approach to deliver team objectives.
  • HSE site champion reviewing processes, drive behaviours, culture and site improvements. Ensure regulatory compliance and business procedures are being applied at all times.
  • Responsible for ensuring quality standards are maintained and delivered internally and externally in line with the company and regulatory authority approvals.
  • Ensure world-class TATs, with service levels meeting and or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Support and promote the development of the business with both internal and external customers, drive strategic improvement priorities and business growth.
  • Manage the customer experience through the site customer facing team.
  • Responsible to achieve operational KPI targets, maximising production efficiency improvement and developing the team's knowledge and experience.
  • Act as the main interface from the site to the Ansty hub, reporting out KPIs.
  • Provide overall sign-off, service forecast, service agreements and site plans.
  • Manages staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations.
  • Support the site HPS (High Performance System) initiatives by delivering change and CI activities.
  • Lead Continuous improvement and activities such as 6S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping etc.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Three years of experience in a managerial/supervisory aerospace manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Backgrounds from other Manufacturing industries will be considered.
  • Strong leadership and management skills to enable the creation of a highly capable and sustainable Manufacturing Operations Function.
  • Ability to influence throughout the organization at all levels.
  • Skilled in manufacturing processes of aerospace or automotive industry and experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma process improvements.
  • Action-oriented and innovative in leading the Manufacturing and Operations Function.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence, while exercising sensitivity to the audience.
  • Demonstrates a high level of ethical behaviour in exercising judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
