Job Designation

The Senior Commercial and Customer Service Manager will lead the Meggitt Orange County business activity and manage a variety of complex Customer Contracts and Customer relations.  Reviews and drafts complex contractual documentation and negotiates agreements in accordance with corporate policy, applicable legal requirements and sound business judgement. Assesses contractual and commercial risk and provides appropriate advice to the Commercial team, business unit and Executive leadership.
 

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Leads all Commercial activity for the Meggitt Orange County business
  • Provides organizational advice, training, development and guidance to the business and Commercial Management team as well as other functions within the business unit
  • Leads Contract formation, negotiation, contract debriefing, interpretation, and administration, revenue recognition and IFRS requirements
  • Provides guidance on regulatory audits, U.S. Government FAR/DFARS standards
  • Monitors and reports on performance and business metrics against contracts, drafts and leads in contract closedown/exit activities
  • Actively supports the Sales team responding to RFI’s or RFP’s through Commercial guidance and governance, including appropriate approval authority and development of business cases
  • Leads strategic Commercial initiatives in Intermediary activity with Sales, business unit and Executive leadership to ensure Sales targets and corporate compliance is successfully achieved
  • Maintain all Contract matters in Meggitt CRM system, including active and expired contracts, dashboard reporting, contract review workflow and Opportunity tracking
  • Leads all Contracting activity for the business including regulatory audits, U.S. Government FAR/DFARS standards, ISO certification requirements with agencies including but not limited to DCMA, DCAA and other regulatory agencies
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. Willingness to work additional hours as necessary at month, quarter or annual financial close periods

 

Job Core Responsibilities – Customer Service

  • Responsible for delivering world-class Customer Account Management across global OEM customer base, ensuring excellent service levels, together with developing customer relationships to enable access to new and repeat business.
  • Instill a “process focus” within the Customer Service team and provide encouragement, by leading by example, and living the values of the business.
  • Coach and supervise the team of Customer Service Account Representatives on a day-to-day basis, including on-the-job training and day-to-day HR issues, ensuring compliance with applicable industry-specific quality standards.
  • Attend/Lead meetings with customers, both in-house and at customer locations, and prepare visit/trip reports to communicate critical issues/opportunities.
  • Work with and facilitate activities of cross-functional teams in support of proposal development, commercial terms and conditions, pricing, delivery status, and progress of all current and potential business with customers.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement activities and facilitate change within own area of control and within the overall business as appropriate.
  • Manage Voice of Customer reporting for site and through corporate VOC tracking tools.

Job Specifications

Education: Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, Economics or a related field
Years’ Experience:  10 years in Contracts leadership role with skills necessary to independently manage a challenging range of contract and customer matters
Skills:
•    DCMA or DCAA experience preferred
•    Merger & Acquisition transactional experience preferred
•    Thorough understanding of product profitability and pricing analysis
•    Proven success in leading Commercial reporting and presentations through executive senior leadership at the highest levels of the organization
•    Must have proven aptitude in managing sales channel partner arrangements
•    Ability to source, structure and present business solutions to existing and prospective business
•    Proven experience driving continuous improvement in Contracting, impacting revenue and mitigating risk
•    Experience in development of E-Commerce business model, development of contracting practices and legal compliance issues for high customer volume environment
•    Ability to make timely, sound decisions and accurate commercial judgements in a dynamic environment
•    Understanding and clear interpretation of policy & procedures specific to Contracting
•    Must have strong understanding of U.S. Government Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) including but not limited to data rights, commerciality under FAR Part 12, cost and pricing requirements under FAR Part 15, cybersecurity and safeguarding unclassified information and small business subcontracting
•    Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure partner/member related issues are handled in a fair, consistent manner
•    Experience in development of contracting practices and legal compliance issues for high customer volume environment
•    Ability to concurrently work multiple projects within requested deadlines
•    Salesforce and SAP experience preferred
•    Must have the ability to work within a team and foster teamwork and trust
