Job Designation


The Trade Compliance Manager, Sr. role is similar to that of Trade Compliance Manager but is more strategic and may cover multiple sites across a Product Group or within a geographic region. This position reports to the Head of Trade Compliance for the Regional Shared Service they are part of.  They may have matrix reporting to a Product Group Leader or Site General Manager as appropriate. They are responsible for implementation and maintenance of the Trade Compliance program for their particular site(s) within a region. Ensures that trade transactions are undertaken in compliance with import/export laws, regulations and controls administered by the government agency as appropriate to the business location


Job Core Responsibilities


  • Provides trade compliance expertise for export/import activities within multiple sites within a region. Communication with management of current events and trends, ensure coordination of export license attainment. Engagement at senior business level to guide strategy deployment in compliance with regulatory requirements, avoiding future roadblocks to delivery
  • Provides day‐to‐day management for export and import compliance/operational issues; interacts with customs agencies to resolve regulatory and transactional questions involving import/export issues; reports suspected shortfalls in compliance and works on voluntary disclosures as requested
  • Provides input on staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations


Job Specifications


Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience:  8 years of progressive experience in Trade Compliance


  • This role is Hybrid and you will be required to be onsite 1 day a week.
  • Advanced knowledge of trade compliance, such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), and US Customs and Border Protection Regulations
  • Strong diplomatic skills to manage diverse needs of various disciplines with competing priorities
  • Ability to manage and strategically integrate regulatory requirements into business processes to maximize outcomes 
  • Ability to direct resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems while applying advanced analytical thought and judgment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
