Expertise in this division ranges from heat exchangers used in off-shore gas processing to the design and manufacture of dynamic instrumentation for vibration, shock and pressure measurements. We produce tiny radar systems that are installed on drone aircraft to track incoming missiles or bullets, reassuring aircrew and missile manufacturers that their weapons are working as advertised.

Job Designation

The Sr. Cost Accountant analyzes material, labor, or other expenses to determine production costs, cost of sales, or other cost-related performance measures.  Records, verifies, and consolidates transactions while ensuring the integrity of the accounting information. Ensures the accounting records are complete, accurate and is in accordance with generally accepted accounting policies and principles.


Job Core Responsibilities
  • Develop standard costs and review/upload material costs. 
  • Complete Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations related to perpetual inventory, PPV, WIP and scrap
  • Assist with cycle counts – planning, auditing and reporting results
  • Responsible for Month End Close duties such as journal entries related but not limited to receipts, cost change/amortization, stock accruals, WIP
  • Monitor the accuracy of all labor transactions PPV (Purchase Price Variance) and scrap reporting
  • Excess and obsolescence
  • Work Order Variance Reporting and Analysis
  • Prepare monthly schedules for the consolidated Financial Package
  • Participate in external and internal audits
  • Perform annual cost roll up and reporting
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis
Job Specifications

Education:  Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance required
Years’ Experience: 5+ years of accounting experience; 4+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
•    Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
•    Ability to research and analyze data effectively    
•    Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reports
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills 
•    Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
•    Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines
•    Ability to visualize and plan objectives and goals strategically
•    Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices, procedures and standards policy and procedure development techniques
•    Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web browsers
•    SAP knowledge a plus
•    Knowledge of computerized information systems used in financial and/or accounting applications
