Job Designation

The Payroll Administrator processes weekly and bi-weekly Payrolls in a timely and accurate manner. This position partners with Human Resources and other departments to ensure proper flow of employee data and information, and performs customer service to answer questions and resolve issues.

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Processes weekly and bi-weekly Payrolls for assigned Pay groups*
•    Transmits /receives Payroll data from and into the Payroll system*
•    Transfers employee timesheets to payroll system (if applicable) *
•    Responsible for ensuring payrolls are correct and completed timely*
•    Verifies final payroll for accuracy*
•    Ensures proper payroll check distribution*
•    Coordinates employee additions/changes with Human Resources and inputs required changes into the Payroll
     system*
•    Reviews Payroll prior to transmission for accuracy and processes within designated timeframe*
•    Prepares additional payments as requested*
•    Answers customer calls per SLA standards*
•    Performs audits for potential issues, and processes reports to help with audits*
•    Responds to customer emails timely and researches any discrepancies; refers complex issues to Payroll Manager*
•    Ensures child support, IRS and other garnishments are properly deducted and processed*
•    Verifies taxing jurisdictions for employees are correct in the system, and seeks guidance from Payroll Manager on
     any complex tax situations*
•    Maintains accurate Payroll files*
•    Assists with special projects
•    Collaborative team player with ability to effectively interact with multiple working styles and work across all levels of
     the organization
•    Strong detail orientation, organization, and time management skills with ability to prioritize work in a fast paced
     environment *
•    Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with difficult and sensitive issues *
•    Ability to work within tight deadlines and quickly handle and resolve routine payroll issues, as well as effectively
     utilize problem solving skills for more complex issues*
•    Performs other duties as assigned

Job Specifications

Education : A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Certifications  
Years Experience : 2 years or more of relevant experience
Skills       
•    Prior payroll experience strongly preferred with a large payroll provider; accounting experience helpful.
•    Prior ADP experience strongly preferred. 
•    At least two years of prior office experience, preferably in a Customer Service area.
•    Proficient in Microsoft office suite.
•    Excellent communications and organizational skills.
•    Must be able to work overtime as needed

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $30.72 to $36.88 an hour.
