Job Designation

Meggitt has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Learning and Development that oversees the talent and organization effectiveness processes across this global organization.  Reporting to the SVP of HR, this role is instrumental in developing methods to build organizational capability and shape our culture in support of achieving our strategic objectives.  

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Leads the talent and learning strategy, while overseeing the design and implementation of development programs to support the growth of the organization
•    Collaborates with leaders across the organization to continue the journey of building a high performance culture. 
•    Manages the development and delivery of training materials for a variety of business needs, including leadership, technical skills and personal development training
-    Creates custom training solutions, leveraging potential relevant products and effective training tools/methods, to meet business objectives 
•    Oversees and manages the training needs assessments to identify, develop and strengthen business capabilities
•    Responsible for the performance management and talent management processes and the ongoing evolution of the programs to ensure they are making an impact on the talent pipeline.  Creates and deploys communications and training for the different phases on the processes.
•    Partners with the SVP HR Operations and diversity council to deploy and measure processes and training to increase diversity and inclusion.
•    Works closely with the HRIS team to implement technology to support talent related technology support, builds metrics to measure effectiveness of programs.
•    Utilize strong organization development process to assess, diagnose, design, and deliver solutions needed to optimize talent management and enhance organizational effectiveness to meet the strategic initiatives of the business.  
•    Oversees the development and implementation of technical training and user guides to support implementation and maintenance of information systems
•    Conducts and provides training workshops, seminars and classes accordingly to management needs assessment
•    Develops a training dashboard to ensure the effectiveness of training programs and recommends modifications to the database management, for training programs access and tracking
•    Works with external vendors to supplement training and development needs

Job Specifications

Education Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Certifications  
Years Experience 10 - 15 years of relevant experience
Skills      
•    Strong program management and process skills
•    Experience working in a large, global organization and understands cultural nuances.
•    Strong team development and leadership skills to enable the creation of a highly capable Learning and Development Function, while demonstrating strong presentation, analytical and strategic thinking skills
•    Experience building and delivering learning programs in a business environment, including leadership, personal skills development and technical training
•    Proven ability to deliver content, engage an audience and foster mentoring relationships, while solving complex problems
•    Able to utilize the latest technology to enhance the growth of an organization 
•    Capable of driving change transformation and strategy execution to achieve specific business results 
•    Ability to anticipate internal or external business challenges/regulatory issues and make recommendations
•    Demonstrates a high level of ethical behavior in exercising judgment and discretion in matters of significance
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence, while exercising sensitivity to the audience
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools
