Job Designation
The Mechanical Engineer 3 provides significant expertise on complex mechanical engineering issues and acts as a professional resource for the team. Designs and develops a variety of mechanical components and systems for products.
Job Core Responsibilities
• Support all phases of a project and product life cycle

• Analyze requirements, generate derived requirements, and synthesize electrical design from requirements
• Understanding of regulatory requirements and standards as they impact electrical system design, function, production, and support
o RTCA DO-160
o Various MIL standards
o Other: ASME, SAE
• Follow and participate in process and development methods
o Generate artifacts to support process flow
• Work across functional boundaries
o Support systems, electrical, and production engineering
• Strong analytical capability
o Can take complex systems and distill down to simple models and concepts
o Ability to model complex systems
Job Specifications
Education: Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering; MS preferred
Years' Experience: 5 - 10 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience; military/aerospace experience preferred
Skills:
• Demonstrated expertise with complex mechanical engineering solutions
• Proficient with 3-D modeling, CAD and SolidWorks
• Experience with geometric dimension and tolerance (GD&T) and tolerance/stack-up analysis
• Knowledgeable with material selection for mechanical systems
• Mechanical systems design and analysis

Statics, dynamics, and thermal
Manufacturing and assembly considerations
• FEA modeling (vibration, stress, strain, fatigue, thermal (conduction, convection))
