Job Designation

The Electrical Engineer provides a solid expertise to a variety of complex electrical projects. Applies expertise in both electrical and mechanical engineering in various aspects of the development of components and control systems. Responsible for the electrical engineering aspects of development and ensures designs meet the product requirements.

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Provides significant Electrical Engineering expertise to complex assignments throughout the project life cycle (concept, development, test, production, in-service support)
•    Analyzes customer/system requirements, derives hardware requirements and translates them into electrical design, while performing design verification testing
•    Acts as a technical expert to ensure designs meet product requirements and comply with regulations
•    Designs and improves circuits to meet functional block diagrams, while using best practices
•    Performs value analysis during the product design phase, while optimizing product development costs
•    Acts as a resource for colleagues and able to explain difficult or sensitive information to build consensus
•    Follows and participates in process and development methods (DO-178/254, generate artifacts to support process flow)
•    Works across functional boundaries (support systems, mechanical, and production engineering)
•    Other responsibilities as assigned
•    Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
•    Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
 

Job Specifications

Education:  Bachelor degree in Engineering or related technical field
Years' Experience: 3-5 years of electrical engineering experience; aerospace background a plus
Skills:
•    Mixed signal design, development, and debugging experience at the discrete component level (printed circuit board)
•    PCB experience
     o    Rigid, rigid-flex, flex
     o    Layout (design), fabrication, material knowledge
     o    High reliability system – thermal & mechanical considerations
     o    IPC standards
•    Experience with RF systems would be helpful
     o    Wave guides, impedance matching circuits, antennas, EM modeling (CST Studio)
•    Experience with data acquisition, instrumentation control, data collection, post processing, and analysis
•    Proficient with electrical lab equipment: DMM, power supplies, oscilloscopes, function generators, network analyzer, 
•    Has experience with GIPB, VISA, LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python
•    Schematic capture, BOM generation, circuit design and analysis, simulation
•    OrCAD preferred, PSPICE, network analysis, sensitivity analysis, component variation assessment, tolerance assessment, thermal sensitivity analysis
•    OrCAD PCB Editor, footprint, component, and symbol creation and management, signal routing, power routing, plane layers, EMI considerations
•    Electrical system prototyping & debugging
     o    Soldering – surface mount & through-hole
     o    Working with small size components / devices
