Job Designation

The Industrial Plumber-Maintenance Tech will coordinate equipment placement for new or relocating equipment and take the lead with positioning, setup, utilities connections and in-service preparations. In addition, the tech will perform preventive maintenance inspections, maintain, troubleshoot and repair production machinery and facilities equipment, maintain facilities and equipment repair parts inventory and perform other functions and tasks as needed. Routine building maintenance tasks such as movement of equipment or furniture, plumbing, drain clearing, carpentry, and general repairs will also be required. Support in maintaining a safe work environment for our employees and compliance with environmental standards is also an expectation for this role.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Coordinates placement of new and relocating equipment. Safely connects utilities to newly placed equipment as needed; air, water, nitrogen, hydraulic, etc.
  • Minimizes or eliminates facilities and equipment downtime by completing preventive maintenance on facilities equipment, fixtures and production machines.
  • Troubleshoots equipment and device malfunctions.
  • Makes needed repairs to equipment, including but not limited to mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and plumbing equipment and devices.
  • Accurately documents all work performed and resources used.
  • Accurately maintains records of repairs, maintenance, parts inventory, etc.
  • Completes purchase requisitions for parts to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Coordinates with other departments and employees as needed to minimize interruption of production processes.
  • May serve as primary contact and coordinator for facilities related services and requests.
  • Performs other tasks and duties as needed.

Job Specifications

Level: Journeyman Plumber

Qualifications: 

  • 4 years minimum experience with industrial piping connections.
  • Basic awareness and understanding of Cal/OSHA standards and guidelines for manufacturing environment.
  • Experienced with the use of hand and power tools, meters, gauges, measuring devices, etc.
  • Experience with MS Office programs including Outlook and Excel.
  • Organized, thorough, detail oriented.
  • Current driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Willing to work 9/80 schedule with flexible hours and overtime when necessary

 

Experience, Knowledge Skills and Abilities: 

  • Able to read and follow schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches, operating and repair manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Good communicator; able to coordinate with other departments to achieve goals.
  • Able to effectively utilize Computerized Maintenance Software.
  • Able to operate a forklift, scissor lift and to climb ladders.
  • Open to continuous improvement, accountability and a lean culture.
  • Demonstrates and maintains a professional demeanor in all situations including the ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
  • Ability to prioritize competing commitments in line with company objectives.
  • Hydraulics experience a plus.
