Job Designation

To further strengthen our “Power Generation Segment department, we are currently looking for a “Key Account Manager”.

The Position

As “Key Account Manager” you will be responsible for the overall strategy and relationship with assigned key accounts. You will work to gain market share at key accounts and improve gross margin. You will also ensure customers satisfaction through excellent and timely support. Acts as voice of customer within the business unit and supports the overall strategy with her/his market insights.

Job Core Responsibilities

The main responsibilities for this role are:

  • Frequently visits key customers and industry / networking events, constantly looking for business development opportunities. Follows up rapidly and thoroughly on opportunities
  • Builds a network of trusted relationships within the customer organization. Ensures key functions (e.g. supply chain, engineering, sales, etc.) and all relevant hierarchical levels are covered
  • Responsible for the full sales process of opportunities from the assigned key accounts. Coaches, supports and delegates appropriately to the sales engineer(s) assigned to the accounts
  • Prepares and presents business cases to management for large opportunities
  • Works closely with customer support and engineering to provide the optimal technical solution to key customers
  • Acts as expert of the customer and market needs for internal stakeholders and strategic needs
  • Understands and applies the Large Account Management Process (Miller Heiman) to support best-in-class returns for Meggitt
  • Responsible for financial and production forecasting for the assigned key accounts (i.e. Budget, production forecasting, etc.)
  • Ensures CRM (Customer-Relationship-Management software) is maintained regularly (Opportunities, Accounts, Contacts, etc.)
  • Effectively communicates key issues to the Energy Management Team (EMT)
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of processes to ensure efficiency of the workflow and integration with other services
Job Specifications

Your Profile

  • At least 5 years of experience in sales or account management for highly technical products
  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical experience, preferably electrical or mechanical engineer
  • Knowledge of condition monitoring and/or sensing/Instrumentation of large rotating machinery is a strong asset
  • Previous experience working for or with large OEM’s for power generation applications is a strong asset
  • Fluent in English and German, other languages are an asset (French, Italian, etc.)
  • Outgoing personality and capable to build strong personal ties with customers
  • Great presentation skills
  • Curios personality and excellent problem solving skills
  • Dynamic, motivated,  reliable, flexible and team player
  • Willing to travel up to 50% of the time
