Role Summary
The Senior ME role is required to working on a new product introduction for a suite of 4 electro-mechanical indicators on a high rate aircraft platform. The role would suit a capable graduate with a few years' experience or a highly skilled ME with extensive experience. The role also offers the development onto several other high profile projects.
In order to be successful in the role you would need to be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge across Manufacturing Technologies and Assembly processes, Engineering Sciences and Manufacturing management. You will have the ability to lead Manufacturing Engineering projects and possess knowledge in various manufacturing processes including but not limited to: Machining, Joining, Heat Treatment, Metrology, Jigs and Fixtures and Assembly processes. Also have knowledge of Metallurgy / Material science and be conversant with design for manufacture principles.
Core Responsibilities
Ability to lead and develop team members; utilising good communication skills
Introduce new systems, processes, methods and facilities to ensure the cost effective integration of new products
Ability to engineer and introduce new products to manufacture and investigate production and process issues providing technical support and training
Justify and manage the installation of new plant and equipment
Identify applications/projects for SPC and manage their implementation including ongoing data analysis
Improve manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning work flow, space requirements and equipment layout
Lead Industrialisation projects to customer requirements performing activities such as DFMEA, PFMEA and similar tools.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Graduate with a few years' experience within a manufacturing and or engineering environment
Or degree in a manufacturing and/or Mechanical Engineering discipline with extensive experience
Understanding of a wide spectrum of manufacturing processes
Strong problem-solving skills and logical approach
Ability to plan and prioritizing activities
Team working skills
Analytical skills
Strong risk management mindset, proactive in identifying and dealing with potential business risks
Understanding of MRP/ERP systems
