Role Summary

The Hardware Engineer - Aerospace role is to provide engineering support to the Manufacturing process for a range of products on an in-service international airborne platform covering various capabilities of the flight control system.   The role will be working in a team of 6; centred on new build technical queries, providing engineering support to the Repairs process, Diagnosis and resolution of issues with test equipment and to provide support to  the Project Manager in support of making a proposal to customers for new work. #LI-SJ1


Job Core Responsibilities

  • Provides Electrical / Electronic Engineering expertise for a range of activates; designing, testing, maintaining, and improving electronic components or products.
  • Solves technical problems using a combination of experience, judgment and precedents.
  • Applies expertise in both electrical and mechanical engineering in various aspects of the development of components and control systems.
  • Prepares a range of reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information .
  • Communicates complex technical information to others in a clear and effective manner
  • Working hours: 8 hours Mon-thurs and 5 hours on a Friday.  Flexi-time available within reason.

Skills, Experience & Abilities

  • Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • Background in aviation - military or civil
  • Sound knowledge of electronic circuit analysis (analogue and digital)
  • Familiarity with product testing, including qualification testing
  • Technical awareness of software and its application to hardware
  • Able to prepare and present material to colleagues and customers
  • Familiar with the principles of risk management
