Job Designation

The Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk performs routine tasks in support of accounts payable/receivable transactions. The AP/AR Clerk will participate in paying vendor invoices and reconciling payable/receivable ledger accounts. The Accounts AP/AR will apply accounting expertise to perform a variety of accounting activities. Prepares records, analyzes, and reports accounting transactions while ensuring the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles. 

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Processes invoices, performing verifications of invoice accuracy
  • Posts transactions to payable and receivable ledger accounts
  • Processes employee expense reports and reconciles employee advances
  • Assists with month-end closing as required
  • Resolves vendor and customer account discrepancies by investigating documentation and proactive follow-up to seek resolution
  • Maintains appropriate filing systems for financial documentation
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required
  • This role may require to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Job Specifications

  • Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations. Preferred a bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Years of experience: 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Required skills :
    • Basic understanding of standard accounting concepts, practices, and procedures
    • Working experience with Accounts Payable/Receivable is desired
    • Excellent internal and external customer service skills
    • Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in changing situations
    • Ability to recognize and solve typical problems and select solutions from established options    
    • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and accurate data entry skills
