Job Designation

Summary: The AR Specialist performs routine tasks in support of AR/AP transactions. Participates in customer calls, collecting cash, and reconciling the aging reports.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Processes invoices, performing verifications of invoice accuracy
  • Post transactions to receivable ledger accounts
  • Assists with month end closing as required
  • Maintains appropriate filing systems for financial documentation
  • Email and call customer contacts to resolve outstanding balances
  • Apply received payments to outstanding invoices
  • Review and research aging reports
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Job Specifications

Secondary certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations

Years of Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience

 

Skills:

  • Basic understanding of standard accounting concepts, practices and procedures
  • Excellent internal and external customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in changing situations
  • Ability to recognize and solve typical problems and select solutions from established options
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and accurate data entry skills
