Job Designation

Responsible for overall execution of assigned projects, acting as engineering interface to the customer and as leader of the internal integrated product team (IPT).  Leads project planning, requirements scope/change management, and quality, cost, and schedule compliance.  Actively manages project risk and assures engineering and manufacturing alignment, including design to cost, for new development.

 

Job Core Responsibilities
  • Develop, communicate, and execute project plans.  Establish appropriate planning and controls to meet performance objectives, budgets, and schedules.
  • Manage assigned projects to (1) complete development milestones on-time and in compliance with contractual obligations, (2) meet business case part cost objectives and development cost budgets, and (3) assure design compliance to requirements.
  • Lead an integrated project team that includes engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality assurance, and other personnel.  Lead team meetings and assure accountability and follow through on project actions.
  • Summarize and communicate areas of potential impact to customer or contractual agreements; identify & communicate corrective actions.
  • Manage technical and project level risk processes as well as internal scope and change control activities.
  • Comply with company product lifecycle management process expectations and similar industry standards
  • Present project status to company management and others as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
  • Bachelor's degree (BS) from an accredited university in engineering, technology management, or equivalent experience 
  • 5-10 years related experience in a business developing and manufacturing complex aerospace products.
  • Experience with thermal and liquid management systems preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experienced with product lifecycle management (stage gate) processes
  • Performance management and accountability orientation; able to build and lead teams
  • Excellent oral and written communications in English (comparable foreign language skills desired but not required)
  • Production planning and control system (MRP/ERP) knowledge
  • Skill in project planning, scheduling/budgeting, and control (PMBOK knowledge areas)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft project
