Across its five product groups, Airframe Systems produces a host of world leading technology. Our Braking Systems product group supplies both military and commercial aircrafts.

We seal essential spaces, such as landing gear, wings, engines, nacelles, windows and doors, and produce intelligent air data systems and sensors that measure altitude, angle or acceleration. These sensors can be used on planes, train control systems or even missile control systems.

Job Designation

The Electrical department provides Electrical Engineering expertise for all phases of product development from design through production. Applies expertise in Electrical Engineering in various aspects of the development of electronic components for aerospace applications.  For Engineering, the Electrical Engineer provides this expertise to development and sustaining projects: addressing design of electronics, board layout support, FPGA firmware requirement and code development, design and qualification testing, and creation of design and program.

Job Core Responsibilities

• Electrical Engineering design including:

  • Schematic Capture (Altium preferred)
  • Detailed Circuit Design
  • Electrical Analysis (e.g. derating)
  • Design Reviews
  • Electrical Setup and Testing (e.g. DO-160)

• Provides Electrical Engineering support for a range of activities; circuit designing, schematic creating, testing, maintaining, and improving electronic components or products
• Component review, comparison, and selection based on performance parameters and lifecycle status
• Component obsolescence and lifecycle management
• Design to electrical requirements
• Solves technical problems using a combination of experience, judgment, and precedents
• Applies expertise in electrical engineering in various aspects of the development of components and control systems
• Prepares a range of reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
• Communicates complex technical information to others in a clear and effective manner
• Uses discretion and independent judgment when evaluating courses of action; makes decisions after considering various options
• Keeps current with state of the art techniques for electronics packaging and material technology and processes as Meggitt may require
• Outside interface for Meggitt electrical technology and customer requirements as well as providing subject matter expertise
• Provides technical support and guidance to Development Engineering in terms of design reviews, dFMEAs, pFMEAs, and associated risk management activities
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Job Specifications

Education:  Bachelor degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering required
Years' Experience: 1-3 years of electronics experience within an aerospace, military or DoD environment
•    Knowledge of Electrical Engineering including digital design
•    Excellent ability to apply a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving
•    Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
•    Ability to explain a range of complex technical information
•    FPGA firmware development
•    Adept with computer applications, including MS Office Suite, ERP Systems
•    Excellent communicator – can sell concepts to people at all levels in the organization, including engineers. Thrives on excellent interaction with people.
•    Well organized. Able to multi-task and manage numerous projects in parallel
•    Energy and enthusiasm – and portrays these traits openly
•    Able to see the big picture, yet also able to drill down and manage details
•    Flexible and adaptable to change
•    Good problem solver
•    Knowledge of DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, ARP a plus
