Job Designation

The Director of Program Management is accountable for the performance of all programs executed in the Product Group and of the program governance for the home base site.

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Responsible for through-life performance of all programs within the Product Group, including project NPV & IRR, non-recurring & recurring costs, schedule and quality adherence, customer satisfaction, and management of opportunities, risks, customer or other program escalation.
•    Thorough leadership and collaboration with Product Group functional peers, implementation and application of rigorous Program Lifecycle Management to ensure effective governance and execution of programs including program reviews, gate reviews and effective IPTs.
•    Management of key customer relationships within the Product Group; management and coordination of escalated issues.
•    Providing leadership to program managers to ensure effective execution and performance of programs within the Product Group and home base site.
•    Ensuring that underperforming programs are recognized and the appropriate recovery actions taken.
•    Developing program management talent in the Product Group to meet the business requirements.
•    Supporting the preparation of proposals during bids for new business. 
•    Leading the PM function with clear guidance, coaching and support for:
          As a key member of the Product Group Leadership team, collaborating across all functions to embed a culture of Program Lifecycle Management process adherence and ownership to ensure a common process and roadmap is being used with contribution from all to develop products and deliver the benefits during production and in the aftermarket.
          Business case management – delivery of return on investment for customer-funded projects and non-funded projects and development of robust recovery plans when deviations occur.
          Robust planning and resource management (IPTs) to enable successful project and program delivery.
          Risk & opportunity management – ensuring that risks and opportunities are managed through direct program actions not just reported.
          Working across the Product Group to evolve the program function through the Meggitt Production Systems Gates for sustained growth and capability.
          Working with the site leadership teams to develop site PM talent, address training gaps and address performance shortfalls.
          Working with the Product Group Leader and Division functional leaders to ensure strategic targets for growth and development are met.
          Working across the Product Group and directly with customers when needed to ensure customer relationships are maintained and working to address performance shortfalls relative to Customer Score Card feedback.
          Working with the Division PM leader to ensure alignment of Divisional goals with Product Group.
          Undertaking special assignments / projects as needed by the Division to support key organization goals and objectives.
           Leading the team and engaging with all areas of the business using engagement behavior that is consistent with the Meggitt values and culture. 

Job Specifications

Education:  Bachelor degree in related field required; Master degree or MBA a plus
Years' Experience: 10+ years of program management experience in a production industry; aerospace background required
Certifications: APM or PMP desirable
Skills:

•    Strong customer focus and relationship management capabilities
•    Exceptional stakeholder engagement and management abilities to align diverse stakeholder groups toward common goals
•    Solid experience with program and project management methodologies applied across large complex programs
•    Possess a strong technical background to understand and evaluate the technical specifications, requirements and capabilities associated with the program
•    Strong finance business acumen, including business case performance metric measures management, (NPV, IRR, RC, NRC, etc.)
•    Exceptional leadership and strategic thinking capabilities along with the ability to interface with cross-functional disciplines; planning and prioritizing work across multiple programs to meet commitments, using excellent interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion
•    Self-motivated with problem solving and decision making skills
•    Demonstrated ability to manage multiple activities and projects
•    Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to develop clear and detailed plans
