Job Designation

The Quality Technician CMM Programmer supports the team under the direction of the Quality Engineer(s) by investigating, analyzing and resolving quality problems by conducting internal product audits, analyzing defect trends and leading continuous improvement projects.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • To perform this job successfully, the employee will possess the skills, aptitudes, and abilities to perform the essential duties proficiently.

    1. Liaison with Manufacturing Supervision personnel to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented
    2. Mechanical skills including Reading blueprints, able to read detailed drawings, interpret GD&T, layout inspection and computer skills with various software/systems.
    3. Must be familiar with Digital and Analogue Micrometer, Depth micrometer, Calipers, Height gage, Comparator, Profilometer, gage blocks and pin gages.
    4. Must be familiar with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operation, reading reports to help structures to stay close to nominal on dimensions. CMM Programming measurement strategies is a plus
    5. Prefer knowledge and experience with CMM Make: Endeavor; Software: CMM Manager V73.3.4.2
    6. Prefer knowledge and experience including programming with CMM Make: Zeiss; Software: Calypso v2020
    7. Able to work with CAD solid models to program on the CMMs
    8. Work to resolve internal technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply
    9. Working knowledge of First Article Inspection Reports, with preference given to knowledge of the AS9102 standard.
    10. Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Job Specifications

Education : Associate's degree in business related field; or 4 years related experience and/or training in manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. ASQ is a plus

Years Experience : 2-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in Aerospace or Automotive manufacturing

Skills :

  1. Associate's degree in business related field; or 4 years related experience and/or training in manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. ASQ is a plus
  2. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  3. Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office applications
  4. Strong problem solving skills
  5. Strong organizational skills
  6. Knowledge of various quality system methodologies 8D, Lean, 5 Why's, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, 8-D, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, etc. preferred
  7. Work well with diverse groups of people and be able to function independently of direct supervision
