Job Designation

The Process Engineer provides chemical engineering expertise in the design and development of new or improved products and processes.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Provides Chemical Engineering expertise in the improvement of Meggitt products, production equipment and production processes
  • Participates in cross-functional teams to perform qualification and validation activities
  • Supports activities to enable cost reduction, process efficiency and operational excellence
  • Applies regulatory compliance requirements to product design, development and transfer
  • Works to improve processes, methods and products
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  • Solves problems in straightforward situations; analyzes possible solutions using technical experience, judgment and precedents
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Job Specifications

Education: Bachelor degree in Chemical or Ceramic Engineering or Materials Science required
Years’ Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience 

  • Ability to work independently and interface with cross-functional disciplines including suppliers, design engineering, quality and procurement; using excellent interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion
  • Strong attention to detail. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task while under pressure.
  • Ability to explain a range of complex technical information
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of originality and independent judgment.
  • Excellent ability to apply a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Solid knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, DOE and other continuous improvement
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
