Across its five product groups, Airframe Systems produces a host of world leading technology. Our Braking Systems product group supplies both military and commercial aircrafts.

We seal essential spaces, such as landing gear, wings, engines, nacelles, windows and doors, and produce intelligent air data systems and sensors that measure altitude, angle or acceleration. These sensors can be used on planes, train control systems or even missile control systems.

Whether it’s developing new radome solutions, fuel delivery systems or high-altitude life support systems, Airframe Systems embodies the innovation at the heart of Meggitt.

Job Designation

Reporting to the Braking Systems Sr Mgr of Operations Excellence and working in tandem with the Site Director, this position will have responsibility for Continuous Improvement activities, programs and teams for Braking Systems Kentucky facilities. The focus of this position will be the application of Meggitt’s High Performance System (HPS) continuous improvement tools, project management skills and problem solving techniques through the Supply Chain in order to obtain "best-in-class" levels of execution. This person will train team members in the use of continuous improvement tools; Lean manufacturing, 6-Sigma and demand pull based process improvements and will lead and facilitate Cl Teams to achieve the site's process and business objectives.

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Interface with peers from all other functional organizations within the enterprise, individually or within a cross-functional team format, senior management and supplier representatives. 
•    Implement 5S, Lean manufacturing, root cause identification/problem solving and visual factory applications.
•    Work with the functions within the organization that impact the business and assist them with continuous improvement initiatives.
•    Create a structured capturing of the 'Voice of the Customer'' and management of activities associated with improving Customer Satisfaction.
•    Monitor and measure business related Key Process Indicator metrics to drive the business toward improvement in the areas of Production Assembly and Supply Chain Management.
•    Maintains and help promote a safe and clean working environment that will ensure the safety and general welfare of employees
•    Will be expected to support all facility and company-wide goals, objectives and initiatives
•    Will be expected to work effectively with members of the Site Management team, groups and other company representatives as well as other tasks as assigned by the Site Director and Sr. Mgr. of Op Excellence
•    Consistent exercise of independent judgment  and discretion in matters of significance
•    Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Job Specifications

Education: Bachelor degree in Business or Engineering or related discipline required
Certifications: Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification highly desirable; formal Continuous Improvement training required
Years’ Experience:  Minimum of 5 years' experience within an aerospace or automotive industries or high technology/small batch product design/manufacturing and Supply Chain environment preferred
Travel: Ability to travel up to 25% (domestic and international)
Skills:
•    Experience in successful application of all or the majority of the following: the eight lean tools, 6S, VSM and process mapping, continuous flow, SMED, standard work, TPM, SMED, Poka-Yoke, PFMEA, PPAP, A3s, and daily management and various problem solving methods
•    Familiarity with aerospace/FAA regulatory requirements, such as AS9100, AS9120 a plus
•    Strong leadership and interpersonal skills required
•    Excellent ability to apply a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving
•    Strong demonstration of problem-solving skills, excellent personal/team organizational skills and effective time management
•    Advanced knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement
•    Ability to explain a range of complex technical information
•    Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
•    Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerBI, and PowerPoint
•    Experience with SAP or other ERP Systems a plus
