Job Designation

 

The Maintenance Technician, Planner organizes, catalogs and maintains critical spare parts inventory needed to optimize efficiency of service and repair for manufacturing equipment throughout the facility in accordance with standard procedures, internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. Performs complex skilled work across multiple-functions and operations of the preventive maintenance system including assisting supervisors with planning and scheduling of preventive maintenance, corrective actions and proactive maintenance.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance, service and repairs of a complex nature on assigned equipment or systems
  • Follows detailed operational instructions, procedures and blueprints while conducting maintenance activities
  • Organize, catalog and maintain spare parts inventory utilizing CMMS.
  • Oversees the preventive maintenance system including scheduling of activities and provides required reports utilizing CMMS.
  • Determines preventative maintenance requirements for new equipment and trains equipment operators to perform routine maintenance
  • Provide organized bookkeeping of Maintenance/Facilities related documentation.
  • Creates standard work for various maintenance tasks.
  • Maintains a safe and effective work area/environment; using appropriate personal protective and safety equipment
  • Performs centralized role of Facilities parts ordering/cataloging including creating requisitions through SAP and follow throughout shipment, delivery and payable through AP.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Job Specifications

Education : High School Diploma and a preferred Associates Degree in a Maintenance related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.  .
Certifications : Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field.
Years Experience : 2-4 years in relevant experience

Skills:

  • Able to read and interpret documents, schematics and blueprints
  • Ability to work within a team environment and adapt to changes in work requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to act as back-up supervisor in Maintenance and Carbon Operations
  • Computer usage including Microsoft suite, SAP and computerized maintenance management database
