Across its five product groups, Airframe Systems produces a host of world leading technology. Our Braking Systems product group supplies both military and commercial aircrafts.

Job Designation

Reporting to the MRO Manager, the MRO Product Engineer helps build positive relationships with customers by providing solutions to technical questions for in-service aircraft model programs. Assignments may include product design change requests, maintenance deviation requests, and development of experimental tools for maintenance.  This role provides a vital part of the on-going customer feedback process.


Job Core Responsibilities

  • Responsible for applying standard principles, theories, concepts and techniques in providing solutions to a variety of problems, using the applicable CMM as a reference.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently apply standard industry techniques, methods and criteria to the solution of engineering problems.
  • Must also possess sufficient knowledge of plant operations to obtain and integrate services of other groups whose participation is essential to successful accomplishment of assignments. 
  • Collects, organizes and analyzes data, and provides feedback to internal/external customers. Performs various tests and Design of Experiments to confirm theory/hypothesis when necessary.
  • Leads/participates on teams in problem solving/corrective action activities and documents as appropriate.
  • Assist with customer product support issues as required.
  • Daily interface with Supervisors, Assemblers/Fitters, Quality, Engineering personnel, contract administrators, CSRs, Procurement and Customer Support representatives. 
  • Works closely with other engineering departments, metallurgist, warranty manager and the MRO module to help solve problems involving product deficiencies, design changes, maintenance deviations, and manufacturing processes and costs, enabling the cross-pollination of design ideas/technical know-how. 
  • Assists in product maintenance training of customers on-site or at the applicable home base in conjunction with field support representatives.
  • Provides support for the maintenance and update of CMMs for in-service aircraft model programs. 
  • Interfaces with customer engineers and repair shop technicians concerning aspects of product performance and maintenance training
  • Carries out special duties as assigned.


Job Specifications

Education: Bachelor degree in Engineering required; Mechanical Engineering field preferred.


  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience working in design, manufacture and assembly of mechanical components, preferably related to the aerospace industry.
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading, geometric tolerance, modeling, stress analysis, manufacturing and quality processes.
  • Experience in a Repair/Overhaul operation a plus


    • Excellent ability to apply a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving
    • Knowledge/Experience of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement
    • Ability to explain a range of complex technical information
    • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management tools; SAP experience a plus
