Job Designation

The EH&S Intern/Co-Op is responsible to assist in planning, directing and coordinating the development and implementation of plant safety/health programs and plant environmental compliance programs in support of company standards, and applicable regulations.

Job Core Responsibilities
  • Provide safety, health and environmental support to plant staff.
  • Assist in maintaining safety and health programs to ensure compliance with current OSHA regulations, applicable federal, state and local safety & health standards.
  • Assist in reviewing and maintaining all environmental programs to assure compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations including but not limited to air permitting, hazardous and non-hazardous wastes collection and disposal and storm/groundwater management.
  • Assist in developing, implementing and tracking employee and associate safety, health and environmental training and other relevant data in support of written programs.
  • Assist in performing plant initiatives to improve safety including safety and environmental audits, behavior based safety program, tracking and analyzing data trends, safety committee program, safety training, incident investigation, medical response and worker’s compensation program.
  • Assist in training new hires, and maintaining annual training for existing employees.
  • Complete routine inspections of equipment and facility.

  • Training Document Retention and Allocation planning
  • Fit Testing and hearing conservation projects
  • Environmental Permitting of new and existing operations
Job Specifications

Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations

Years Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience


  • Actively pursuing an engineering degree at an accredited university
  • Strong word processing and/or data entry skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong work ethics and ability to drive tasks to completion
