Job Designation

Reporting directly to the Manager, Carbon Systems Engineering, the Business Operations Analyst will serve as the analytical clearinghouse for near & long-term capacity planning, data collection, analysis, reporting, ensuring operations leadership is well-informed of both past performance, current capability and future strategy implications.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Lead carbon portion of S&OP reviews focusing on demand and supply effects with key advisory role to maximize current capacity usage, planning and modeling of increased capacity as well as provide advisement for manpower needs of operations.
  • Support advanced analysis of multi-site options for production routes to support strategic goals for near and long-term strategy (10yr) including dynamic scenario modeling.
  • Daily/monthly/periodically recurring data gathering and reporting
  • Time study & process mapping to support growing operations
  • Act as MES subject matter expert for US Carbon Operations – Danville & Akron, support for UK CVD Business Operations Analyst role
  • Responsible various MES & SAP master data management including but not limited to routing standards management and related data as assigned. 
  • Provide expertise in process and data flow requirements per controlling documents.
  • Identify and advocate for operations improvements covering process equipment, process methods, and data interaction. Including authoring and assisting with capital expense request pertaining to US carbon operations
  • Function as support role for various projects serving all areas of carbon production and inventory control
  • Execute project assignments, in a team-based environment, with minimal supervision.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Job Specifications

Education: Bachelor degree in Engineering or Analytics and 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of relevant education and substantial work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations


  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in ERP & MRP, MES/MOM systems (SAP preferred)
  • Experience in a programming language (Python, R, Java, etc.)
  • Experience conducting time studies
  • Excellent ability to apply a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Business Process Mapping
  • Project Management
  • Strong attention to detail. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task while under pressure
  • Work independently as well as interface with cross-functional disciplines including production operators, management, engineering, quality and procurement; using excellent interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion

Location & Travel:

  • This is an on-premise role at the Danville, Kentucky Carbon site
  • Travel up to 20%, may include international travel.
