Role Summary

We are recruiting a newly created Supplier Development & Quality Engineer role to be based at our new Manufacturing HQ in Coventry.


The purpose of the role is to provide Supplier Quality/Development support and guidance to the Procurement/operations team in an aerospace manufacturing environment.


In this role you will be provided with opportunities for progression/development & the ability to really make a difference to our supply chain.


Core Responsibilities

  • Provide quality support to the supply chain and improvement projects.
  • Provide SQA support to the low cost manufacturing sites.
  • Roll out and support the implementation of the Meggitt Zero Defect program to reduce PPM.
  • Develop the Supplier audit plan in line with the Working Assessment of Supplier Performance.
  • Ensure containment for concerns are implemented & drive root cause, corrective actions via 8D’s & Q Pulse.
  • Review First Article Inspection Reports to AS 9102 and DVI standards.
  • Ensure prompt corrective and preventative action against nonconforming product and external audit actions.
  • Support the First Article Inspection programme and account reviews with the relevant buyer.
  • Create relevant procedures as part of the continuous improvement Programme.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Industrial Manufacturing Quality background ideally within the Aerospace industry.
  • Ability to analyse nonconforming data and make recommendations for supplier/process improvements.
  • Proficient in APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, Control Plans, Root Cause analysis.
  • Familiar with aerospace OE quality requirements.
  • Thorough use of Lean/CI techniques.
  • SAP or similar MRP system experience.
