Role Summary
As a Shipping Coordinator at Parker Meggitt you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials and components critical to the success of our organisation whilst keeping our customers in the air!
The Shipping and Logistics Controller is fully competent in all of the processes carried out by the shipping team, is able to train and support others and assist with prioritising the work of the team in the absence of the Manager.
Core Responsibilities
Be able to competently perform all of the duties of the Shipping and Logistics Controller associated with imports, export, record keeping and control of packing materials.
Support all activities related to authorisations applications and approvals (IPR, OPR Airworthiness, etc. this is not and exhaustive list)
Carry out the forwarder management activities.
Support & train other team members when needed.
Provide out of hours AOG support having the capability to process an order from allocation through to delivery to customer
Carry out special duties as assigned.
Skills, knowledge & abilities
Good levels of English
Ideally 1/2 years’ experience in the shipping department
Experience in carriers’ systems is required.
Experience in import/export procedures and export compliance/ITAR
Experience in create export paperwork and provide clearance instructions for import is required.
Good understanding of export licences, CPC and incoterms.
Knowledge in Special Procedures (IPR/OPR) is an advantage.
Competent with ERP software applications (SAP/GTS etc)
Good inter-personal and communication skills, complemented by the ability to prioritise workload with attention to detail and a sense of timeliness.
Strong PC skills including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
