Role Summary
The purpose of this position is to effectively manage large, complex supplier procurement activities and cross-functional relationships ensuring best practice purchasing techniques are applied at all times aligned with Meggitt policies and processes.
Core Responsibilities
- Conducts procurement research projects and analyses results with an objective of identifying opportunities to maximize procurement
- Performs in-depth analysis of supplier cost data for all major programs and develop negotiation strategies
- Reviews sales orders to determine volume procurement opportunities and communicates same to buyer/planners with recommended target pricing and delivery schedules to support production requirements
- Performs cost modelling, opportunity analysis, monitoring and reporting of productivity initiatives and budgeted objectives for the specified team(s)
- Conducts procurement forecasts and financial reporting for the business unit
- Reviews and updates purchase price variance forecasts monthly, while understanding key drivers and risk areas
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Skills, Knowledge & Attributes
Education : Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Certifications :
Years Experience : 5 - 7 years of relevant experience
Skills :
- Experienced in analysing and synthesizing complex and/or diverse information in procurement for aerospace/manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail, highly organized and the ability to prioritize with changing situations
- Solves complex problems and exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with ability to drive tasks to completion
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools
