Job Summary

Responsible for the management of the entire process from forecasting to actual payment of either product warranty or performance claims. Analyse and adjudicate settlements by engaging with the wider team, generate agreement and closure of claims in cooperation with relevant personnel, prepare claims reserve forecasts and monitor expenditures from those reserves. The scope will cover all claims received by the future S&S scope, which will include all or some elements of the braking system product line.

Core Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the adjudication of settlements for product warranty and performance claims based on established policies and for interacting with affected functions and/or customers to reach an equitable and accurate claim settlement
  • Analyse, audit and reach settlement of product warranty and performance claims
  • Consider customer contracts for Limitations and Liability related to claims and contribute to the warranty adjudication process management
  • Proactive interface with various departments within the organisation
  • Responsibility for the accurate input of actual claim data into the claims database.
  • Provide input for monthly accounting entry of any warranty related intercompany charges
  • Create charts and graphs of claims made, claims paid and part quantities on a program level for executive reviews
  • Create and maintain warranty masters and maintain the SAP warranty time period file
  • Provide accurate, timely and positive responses to customers’ questions regarding company policy for warranty issues

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required
  • 5 years of relevant experience within claims management
  • Ability to create, maintain and continuously improve processes
  • Prior experience and knowledge of accounting processes is critical
  • Technical understanding of products is desired
  • Demonstrated business acumen including understanding of contracts and conflict resolution
  • Root cause analysis skills desirable
  • Good planning, organisational, analytical, interpersonal, conflict-solving, oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of application’s in the current company operating system environment (SAP, Salesforce, etc.)
