Job Title:  Programme Manager - Applied Research & Technology

Location: Coventry

About the role

As the Programme Manager for Applied Research and Technology, you will support the management of Meggitt’s global R&T portfolio. You’ll be working with Engineers and Project Managers across all of Meggitt’s Product Groups to ensure financial control of the central R&T budget is maintained. Working in conjunction with the Engineering Finance Business Partner you will provide monthly reporting to meet the requirements of both Engineering management and Meggitt’s Executive Board.

Core Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the AR&T Board’s activities to support the definition and delivery of Meggitt’s technology strategy, acting as Secretary of the AR&T Board.
  • Ensure that the AR&T portfolio reflects Meggitt’s corporate sustainable investment goal.
  • Ensure that the R&T project portfolio deliverables achieve the Engineering target.
  • Ensure that Central AR&T spend achieves budget.
  • Ensure that R&T reporting is delivered to meet the requirements of the Chief Technology Officer and Executive Board, on a monthly basis.
  • Working with Subject Matter Experts in the Central functions and Product Groups, develop improved and automated reporting processes.
  • Working with Product Groups and Central R&T teams, support winning external funding for the R&T portfolio.     

Skills and Experience

  • Proficient in Project Management tools (i.e., MS Project) or similar project tools.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices, procedures and standards policy and procedure development techniques.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web-browsers.
  • Knowledge of computerized information systems used in financial and/or accounting applications.
  • Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to generate credibility with technology leaders and subject matter experts across a range of technologies.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines.
