Our Airframe Systems division brings together an extensive range of skills and abilities to support some of the world’s leading commercial, business and military aircraft manufacturers
Across its five product groups, Airframe Systems produces a host of world leading technology. Our Braking Systems product group supplies both military and commercial aircrafts.
We seal essential spaces, such as landing gear, wings, engines, nacelles, windows and doors, and produce intelligent air data systems and sensors that measure altitude, angle or acceleration. These sensors can be used on planes, train control systems or even missile control systems.
Whether it’s developing new radome solutions, fuel delivery systems or high-altitude life support systems, the Airframe Systems embodies the innovation at the heart of Meggitt.


Maintenance is to facilitate the effective and efficient maintenance of Plant, Equipment and to provide maintenance support to the Coventry site and other sites associated with the Airframes division. The role will involve the development and leadership of a multi-disciplined team and is key to the success of the business in meeting its strategic objectives. 

Core Responsibilities

•    Leadership Tasks: To provide leadership for the cell/team. To hold regular team meetings to discuss achievement against measures of performance; to ensure effective communications across the team to maintain commitment to objectives; to facilitate a continuous improvement culture and co-ordinate the introduction of improvements. 
•    Liaise with all cells and other non-operational areas to provide a maintenance service that will support achieving business objectives. 
•    Agree maintenance priorities and schedules with internal customers and the Maintenance Manager and be responsible for achieving those schedules. 
•    Support the development of the cells in the introduction of new products, new plant and equipment, and systems. 
•    Monitor cell/team expenditure to ensure that costs are controlled. Also assist the Maintenance Manager in developing the annual expenditure plans. 
•    Promote and integrate new working practices into the Maintenance function, i.e. Total Productive Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance. Support the operation of company systems, i.e. Total Productive Maintenance. 
•    Plan and monitor the training and development of team members in support of achieving the team’s objectives. 
•    Maintain good standards of discipline and working practices, and implement procedures to ensure compliance with Airframes Health and Safety Policy and Quality policies. [ 
•    Responsible for the service quality, schedule adherence, cell budgetary control, and the health and safety of those employees under their supervision. 
•    Record activities as appropriate for use in job tracking systems.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

•    Ideally educated to ONC/HNC standard or equivalent, with an engineering apprenticeship or relevant experience. 
•    An in-depth knowledge of the maintenance procedures and techniques used to support cells and product manufacture experience within a maintenance environment is essential. 
•    Good planning, organisational, leadership, interpersonal, decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
•    The job holder works within the Maintenance and Manufacturing areas, and is subject to the particular manufacturing environment of the business and its associated hazards.
