Role Summary
As the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the agenda within the Operations and Test areas. You will be accountable for the maintenance and asset effectiveness of the manufacturing areas, through the development of the team, processes, ways of working and the consistent application of improvement to these areas.
In this role you'll own the delivery of a sustainable maintenance programme; being an exceptional coach, team player, catalyst for change and developing the operational teams to achieve optimum productivity, whilst reaching strategic goals. Development of best practices within the value stream teams and wider operations, whilst offering cross-site join-up with FM and outsourced contractors alongside delivering site commitments will be a significant part of this role.
Core Responsibilities
- Leading and developing the engineering excellence programme in line with best practice methodology and principles
- Delivering positive results through adoption of the effective utilisation of Programme Maintenance (PM), Lean and best practice operational approaches
- Supporting the Operations Test Leads and Module Managers in developing the capability of individuals, teams and processes as the site transitions through it's phases of growth, adoption and implementation of New Ways of Working
- Developing a Best Practice Maintenance Framework which delivers improvement in 3 over-arching metrics (People, Process and Plant)
- Driving a Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) culture through establishment of planned maintenance, predictive maintenance and pro-active techniques
- Monitoring and reviewing PM information and KPI's to drive continuous improvement of global efficiency
- Developing capital and expenditure (CAPEX) strategies to support essential replacement to best utilise financial resources
- Leading daily update meetings
- Ensuring compliance with any regulations for the control of technical data
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Essential:
- Field related degree, or demonstrable track record of achievement in Maintenance Engineering Management within aerospace
- Solid knowledge and experience in Planned Preventative Maintenance within a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of plant equipment and services is essential
- Willingness to work in all areas of the site and satellite sites e.g Carbon Vapour Deposition (CVD), Test Houses and hazardous areas such as, basements, pits, service ducts, towers and roofs.
Preferred:
- Good computer skills and knowledge of SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
- Experience of using CMMS/Maintenance Planning Systems
