Role Summary

We have an exciting Logistics Team Leader role to work at our state of the art facility in Coventry.

 

In this role, you will be responsible in coordinating the resources of the Shipping team to ensure that customer and business requirements are met in a cost effective and timely manner. You will assist and deputise when appropriate for the Logistics Manager in all aspects of internal customer interface and general reporting. Support the provision of the out of hours AOG process from order allocation to deliver to the customer.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate assignment of the day to day activities across the Team in the Shipping function
  • Lead the generation of daily shipping reports and maintenance of team performance metrics
  • Ensure that shipping requirements are executed in accordance with Lead Time requirements and to identify shortages to appropriate personnel to ensure continuity of supply Act as the first point of contact to the internal customer/supplier community
  • Lead the resolution of queries and transaction errors
  • Lead continuous improvement activities under the guidance of the MPS team
  • Ensure HSE compliance in all aspects of the Shipping function
  • Functional training of the team to cover all aspects of the Shipping function

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Relevant logistics team leader experience
  • Good understanding of housekeeping, 5S/6S principles
  • Proactive approach to mentoring & coaching people management including shift scheduling, time and attendance to ensure cover within the team at all times.
  • Ability to effectively resolve conflict
  • Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reports
  • Good/Strong/Excellence verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders
  • Excellent customer service orientation
  • Track record of building and maintaining customer/client relationships
