Headquartered in the UK, Meggitt PLC is a global engineering group specialising in extreme environment components and smart sub-systems for aerospace, defence and energy markets. Meggitt’s civil aerospace presence covers large commercial transports, regional aircraft, business jets, helicopters and general aviation. The group’s growing presence in energy is driven by our core fluid controls, heat management and sensing and monitoring capabilities, many of which are deployed to help reduce the maintenance costs, fuel consumption and carbon emissions of industrial gas and steam turbines.

Role Summary

The Meggitt IT team works closely with functions across the business to identify develop and deploy business systems globally. The Business Systems IT PM will own and deliver a varied portfolio of application transformation projects ranging from application version upgrades to delivery of new application solutions.

Core Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the business teams, IT architects and project sponsor to define and deliver a wide range of IT Projects and Programmes to the business requirements.
  • Work with senior management on the RFP process to identify and appoint the 3rd party delivery partners.
  • Be the prime project interface for internal stakeholders and customers. Facilitate creation of communication plans.    
  • Develop resource plans and ensure appropriate internal and 3rd party resources are engaged, directed and co-ordinated in a timely manner.  
  • Develop and execute the plan for delivering project milestones and manage all costs and internal and external resources to ensure on-time delivery of the project plans.
  • Work with the IT PMO to implement effective project governance and follow the approved gated review processes.
  • Establish appropriate performance metrics and track performance for each project, provide status updates to senior IT and business leadership, and escalate issues for resolution in a timely manner.   
  • Control project requirements, scope, and change management issues and proactively manage project risks.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement and take active part in improving Meggitt IT processes through lessons learned.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
  • Project management qualification or equivalent.
  • Track record of delivering projects in a matrix organisation through multiple vendors.
  • Knowledge/awareness of applications landscape and experience of managing and delivering complex IT projects.  
  • Experience of working in manufacturing, aerospace or automotive sector.
  • Interest in managing change and leading and coaching teams during the business change process.
