Role Summary

The Meggitt IT team works closely with functions across the global business to identify, develop and deploy manufacturing systems globally. The IT Programme Manager will oversee and deliver a varied portfolio of manufacturing applications transformation projects ranging from application version upgrades to delivery of new manufacturing applications to SAP projects to new facilities application requirements.

The initial focus of the role is to Programme Manage the programme that will migrate a set of manufacturing operations and offices to a single site at Ansty Park in Coventry. This comprises a number of workstreams – IT infrastructure, security, applications (manufacturing, engineering, business systems) and digital.

The role will need to work closely with the business and workstream leads to shape and drive a delivery plan. Knowledge and experience of successfully delivering SAP manufacturing projects plus applications migrations is key but the role will also deliver some non-SAP plus infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, resourceful and resilient leader capable of managing multiple IT delivery projects with challenging timescales. They will have experience of working with and delivering IT capabilities across globally spread teams using a structured project management methodology. An element of global travel may be required depending on projects. #LI-SJ1

Job Core Responsibilities

Work closely with the business teams, IT architects and project sponsor to define and deliver Manufacturing programmes and portfolio of IT Projects to the business requirements.

Own the Request For Proposal (RFP) process to identify and appoint the 3rd party delivery partners.

Be the prime project interface for internal stakeholders and customers. Facilitate creation of communication plans.   

Develop resource plans and ensure appropriate internal and 3rd party resources are engaged, directed and co-ordinated in a timely manner.  

  • Develop and execute the plan for delivering project milestones and manage all costs and internal and external resources to ensure on-time delivery of the project plans.
  • Work with the IT PMO to implement effective project governance and follow the approved gated review processes.
  • Establish appropriate performance metrics and track performance for each project, provide status updates to senior IT and business leadership, and escalate issues for resolution in a timely manner.   
  • Control project requirements, scope, and change management issues and proactively manage project risks, issues, dependencies and changes.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement and take active part in improving Meggitt IT’s processes through lessons learned. 
Skills, Attributes & Experience
  • Experience delivering SAP projects in the manufacturing arena including knowledge of MM, IM, PP, PS, MRO
  • Experience in delivering non SAP, facility migration from an applications perspective, and infrastructure projects
  • Ability to deliver projects to Time, Cost, Scope and Quality.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Manufacturing or equivalent.
  • Project Management qualification or equivalent.
  • Track record of delivering projects in a matrix organisation through multiple vendors.
  • Technology expertise – knowledge/awareness of Manufacturing/design applications landscape plus SAP and experience of managing and delivering complex IT projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of working in manufacturing, aerospace or automotive sector.
  • Interest in managing change and leading and coaching teams during the business change process.
