Summary

 

The Facilities Project Manager is responsible for facilities layouts, moves and installations. Supports site development activities through the provision of Management services in support of ongoing operational and none operational developmental needs, whilst maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.

 

Core Responsibilities

 

  • Liaise with all modules and other non-operational areas to provide a suite of services that will support achieving business objectives.
  • Responsible for facilities planning, layouts, moves and installation, employee environment and necessary financial control in assisting the Company in meeting cost, profit and growth objectives.
  • Align departmental priorities and schedules with internal customers’ needs to achieve business goals.
  • Accountable for the control of layouts and drawings of the site. 
  • Provides skilled trade services as required in support of operational and none operational developmental needs. 
  • Ensures that, any and all charges to site layouts, and/or functional areas conforms to necessary safety and functional standards.
  • Manage all necessary contracts and agreements to ensure cost effective support of the site within agreed budgets.  This will require a degree of negotiation and discussion of contracts with the service providers and/or service organizations.
  • Plan, facilitate and monitor achievement against its key measures of performance, e.g. schedule adherence, quality levels, project adherence and cost control.
  • Monitor project expenditure against budgets to ensure that costs are controlled.
  • Maintain good standards and implement procedures to ensure compliance with Meggitt Environmental, Health & Safety policy and Quality policies.
  • Supports the EH&S department in liaison with the Factory Inspectorate, Local Authority, Environment Agency, Regulatory Bodies and other interested parties.
  • Provides a clean, safe work environment for employees and develops all policies, procedures and training programs to ensure a highly-skilled and motivated workforce available to meet present and future needs.
  • Fosters positive employee relations and understands local work rules and regulations so that workforce stability can be maintained.
  • This position involves considerable planning and judgment to manage the many simultaneous activities taking place with the team, and to combine the day-to-day requirements with meeting more long-term objectives.  “On the spot” decisions need to be made to ensure the necessary support of the site.
Job Specifications

 

Education : Post-Secondary degree or the equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Years Experience : Relevant experience

Technical Requirements

  • University degree, preferably in an engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for registration as licensed professional in the field of expertise is recommended.
  • Significant experience in project management and engineering with extensive experience in analyzing, planning, organization and directing facilities implementation, service and support functions.
  • Knowledge and experience in manufacturing methods.
  • Detailed understanding of legislation, codes of practice and standards.
  • Knowledge and experience with continuous improvement techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong PC skills.
