Our Airframe Systems division brings together an extensive range of skills and abilities to support some of the world’s leading commercial, business and military aircraft manufacturers
Across its five product groups, Airframe Systems produces a host of world leading technology. Our Braking Systems product group supplies both military and commercial aircrafts.
We seal essential spaces, such as landing gear, wings, engines, nacelles, windows and doors, and produce intelligent air data systems and sensors that measure altitude, angle or acceleration. These sensors can be used on planes, train control systems or even missile control systems.
Whether it’s developing new radome solutions, fuel delivery systems or high-altitude life support systems, the Airframe Systems embodies the innovation at the heart of Meggitt.

Perform technical support to assist the Engineering function. Performs routine engineering and developmental tests, troubleshoots systems, and screens and analyzes data.

Core Responsibilities

•    Performing environmental or functional tests using hydraulic / electrical rigs (ideally aerospace), following test instructions to the letter, and being exceptionally careful to maintain high quality, immaculate integrity results and logs. 
•    Analysing test data to ensure the test has been conducted correctly and the data meets the needs of the internal customer
•    Reviewing test instructions and procedures to check that the requested tests can be done in practice
•    Assembling and commission hydraulic, mechanical or electrical test rigs, and disassembling (including rigs using aircraft fuel, Skydrol / Hyjet and Aeroshell)
•    Ensure that H&S equipment is always in good working order and inform the Test Supervisor of any HSE issues
•    Be able to identify equipment that needs calibration and inform the supervisor if any items are out of calibration  
•    Perform investigations and tests on bespoke test rigs to identify and resolve issues
•    Contribute to keeping the Test Facilities safe and tidy
•    Identify when test rigs and test equipment needs repair, and assist in organising the repairs 
•    Participate in team and department continuous improvement, and be pro-active in promoting and practicing ‘6S’. 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

•    Knowledge and hand-on experience of high pressure hydraulic systems, ideally including Skydrol/ Hyjet. 
•    Experience of assembling and commissioning test rigs (ideally aerospace)
•    Experience of ‘6S’ or similar, particularly health and safety
•    Know when to seek advice and when to take initiative
•    Ability to work in a team, and also to be accountable for their own tasks and deliverables
•    Honesty and integrity, and a willingness to speak up if something is not right
•    Good written and oral communication skills
