Job Designation

Continuous Improvement Specialist - Primary responsibility for the development and deployment of the tools, methods, and processes that make up the Meggitt High-Performance System (HPS), including Lean Management Systems, Six Sigma, and Lean & Waste elimination approaches key to MPS system effectiveness. Ability to lead and facilitate lean kaizen events to drive business performance improvement. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Deploy the tools, methods, and processes that makeup Meggitt's Lean Management system. 
  • Engage with the site's various functions to drive accountability for systematic, multi-year deployment and maturity of HPS within the site. 
  • Establish a maturity development plan from the current stage to higher stages of lean management system. 
  • Analysis of 'as-is' current state, 'to be" future state Value Stream Map (VSM) development, gap analysis, development of foundational pre-requisites.
  • Baseline 'as-is' learning/knowledge/skills/expertise and ensure leading practice knowledge is leveraged across the site.
  • Interface closely with the Site HR leadership assuring effective cultural base transformation and change management methods.
  • Facilitate HPS training and lean kaizen events
  • Accomplish project objectives and complete assigned tasks on schedule and within budget.

Job Specifications

Education: Post-Secondary Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Certifications: Green Belt Certification
Years Experience: 3+ years experience
Skills: 

  1. Lean Expert and/or Six Sigma Black Belt certifications, as defined in Industry criteria.
  2. Six Sigma tools knowledge with several cycles of learning preferred.
  3. Excellent communication & presentation skills 
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively facilitate the implementation of significant changes in a large organization
  5. Strong Program/Project Management skills.
  6. Ability to use MS Excel, analyze and pivot data.
  7. A clear understanding of the manufacturing values streams from customer order entry through the various production and distribution steps to order completion and shipment.
